Happy Monday!
Here is your productivity drip for this week.
As busy professionals, time is our most valuable resource. We never have enough time and always long for more when our to-do list starts stacking up.
This is ONE strategy you can implement to be more efficient, consistent and mindful of how you spend each day.
Automate your schedule.
Obama explained, "You need to focus your decision-making energy. You need to routinise yourself. You can't be going through the day distracted by trivia."
Ways to automate your schedule
1: Bills
Automate your monthly bills by setting up automatic bill pay where applicable. If you would rather be conservative, set up reminders to pay recurring bills. Ensure the reminders go out at the time you can act on them.
2: Shopping
If grocery shopping is a pain point for you, utilise your local grocery shopping services like PricePally, AmazonFresh, or Tesco, depending on where you reside.
3: Cooking
There's also deciding what to cook, actually cooking it, and repeating the whole process the next day. You can outsource your cooking (have someone come to your house to batch cook for the week) or have a menu of easy-to-prepare meals.
4: Emails
Emails are a significant stressor for many people. Have dedicated time for checking emails, unsubscribing from spam subscriptions, and organising your emails into folders, so the more critical emails are visible each time.
5: Recurring Tasks
Apps like calendars, reminders to eat, drink water, and take short breaks; track your workouts and weights; create a digital pantry, so you know what to buy each time.
Even basic ideas like using keyboard shortcuts can make your life easier. You'll have more room in your brain for innovative ideas.
